NEW: Alpine Lodge (10325)

Summary

The new Christmas set has officially been revealed by Lego and it looks awesome! Each year, Lego releases a Christmas village set that have generally been priced at $99. The Alpine Lodge is probably my favorite set that they have released for this series. It has so many cool little details that just make it amazing. This set has 1517 pieces which brings its price to about $0.06 per piece. It comes with 5 minifigs including a cat and a squirrel. There are a couple of different parts to the set other than just the lodge. There is a frozen pond for skating/hokey, a snowmobile dragging a tree, and an outhouse! The curved wood pieces that they use on the front of the lodge look so good! It takes me back to the Lincoln Logs I used to play with at my grandmas house. I mean seriously, I think they nailed it on the lodge look. It makes me want to book a winter trip to just cozy up in a lodge and relax. I love the little woodcutters station with the axe and the wood under the snowy cover. I also love the way they did the trees with the snowcaps on top. They really captured the essence of a winter lodge getaway!

The inside is also really pretty nice with the cozy armchairs by the fire and the Christmas decorations. I do feel like it’s a little bit crowded feeling. It would have been awesome to have it come out a little more to give some more space in the build and not make it feel cluttered inside.

This image made me lol. I love the addition of the outhouse and that it has the little thing of toilet paper and a seat. Super fun detail!

Close up image of the frozen pond. For how small this part is they filled it with just the right amount of detail. The snowy dock is an awesome touch and the hockey stuff just adds some fun to it!

Minifigs

There are 5 minifigs, a cat and a squirrel. I love the winter outfits that they have for the different minifigs. The sweaters are super great and I really like the ski outfit with the light blue and red. I had a flashback when I saw the snowmobile helmet to the days of playing with my little Anakin Skywalker figure from when he flew in the Naboo Starfighter. I don’t know if I have seen that helmet since then!

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • It is just an all around, good looking build. I might be biased because I love winter lodges and this really hits it home for me.

  • The extra stuff - The frozen pond and the outhouse just really take it to the next level.

  • The consistency of the series. I can imagine this with the other Christmas sets and it is going to fit in so well and just add in enough extra flare to spice up your Christmas village!

Cons:

  • A little too cluttered in the inside of the build. There are some great things inside of it but it just feels too smooshed together.

  • Honestly, that is it. I have stared at this set for about an hour trying to see what might be off about it or that I didn’t like and I can’t find anything!

Overall Rating: 9.5/10

This is just an all-around great Lego set. It will go well with the Christmas village or would go well as a stand-alone set! Let me know what you think of it!
