News: Retiring Sets

As we know, Lego sets can’t stay with us forever. That is part of what makes collecting them so fun! Lego just announced some retiring sets on their website so I have the top sets listed below so that you can decide whether you should make a last-minute purchase or just give a proper goodbye to these sets.

Police Station (10278)

We have another modular set that is about to retire. These have proven to be good investments as there is a pretty big market for them. So whether you are a modular collector or a Lego investor, you may want to run to grab this one. It retails for $199, has 2923 pieces and 5 minifigs.

Colosseum (10276)

This big guy is finally taking his leave. This set is honestly amazing and I have gone back and forth with getting it over the last couple of years.. now is the last chance to snag it. I am just a big fan of the display sets and if you have had the chance to visit the real Colosseum, you will know how amazing it is and I feel like it makes this set even more great. This retails for $549 and has 9036 pieces.

Santa’s Visit (10293)

Santa’s visit is part of the annual Christmas release sets that retail for $99 each. My brother collects these ones and puts them with his Christmas train. It’s honestly a great set up so if you like the different Christmas sets then you can’t pass up this one. Again, this one is part of a type of series so might be a good one to get your hands on for some of the late collectors that come around. Or you can obviously add it to your own Christmas collection and make the holidays even more magical.

3 Marvel Sets

The goat boat is sailing away. The main takeaway of this set is the minifigs which include Thor, Lady Thor, Korg, Valkyrie, and Gorr. I actually hated the goats in this movie so that is a turn off for me on this set but hey some people loved them so maybe with it retiring you will be convinced to get it! This set retails for $60.

Next is the Black Panther. Not a lot to say about this one. The fact that it has been on sale since nearly its first month that it was released says it all. It does happen to still be on sale for $210 rather than the retail price of $350. Honestly I love this idea and I love the Black Panther but I think they could have gone with adding it to the helmet series and making it a little smaller and more on the affordable range. They might have gone just too big for it. But who knows, maybe in a few years this set will be on fire?

Last is the The Iron Man Armory (76216). This set is also on sale from $90 to $63 so it could be worth it! This does come with a bunch of Iron Man suits which is pretty awesome and a great minifig of Whiplash. It also includes Black Widow and Nick Fury.

2 Star Wars Sets

The first set is the Justifier (75323). This is a really interesting ship from Star Wars and they actually made it pretty big which is awesome. The selling point here though is definitely the minifigs, specifically Cad Bane. Any Star Wars fan will tell you how awesome of a character Cad Bane is and having a minifig for him is the bread and butter of this set. It also includes Hunter, Omega, Fennec Shand, and the Todo 360 droid. This set retails for $170.

The second set is Boba Fett’s Throne Room (75326). I did pick up this set and I like it quite a bit! I do wish that Fennec had her helmet cause her helmet is pretty awesome but I am a huge fan of Boba Fett. Even after the terrible Disney+ series they did of him. So having a throne for him to sit on just feels right. This set retails for $100

Real Madrid Stadium and Table Football

For you soccer fans who like the stadium builds, this one is on its way out. Now is the time to pick it up or you may never get your hands on it again! Set 10299 retails for $400 and has 5876 pieces.

Last is the Table Football set (21337). I’m a little surprised that this set is retiring so soon but it has also been on sale so maybe it hasn’t had the best time selling? It really is a pretty cool set especially because it works! I also love the minifig customizations that it comes with so you can choose how your team looks! This set retails for $250 but is on sale for $175. Is that a good enough sale for you to pick it up?

Conclussion

So there are quite a few sets heading out now. Are you planning to pick any of them up?
